"It's been a while coming and, although it still lacks an exact release date, Unreal Tournament III is set to hit 360 this summer, and here's the latest footage and screens.

We got a chance to go hands-on with the 360 version at the Midway Gamers' Day event last night, including a bash at the new 360-exclusive split-screen mode. It all ran very smoothly, and manages to keep the detail levels up high, too."

"Epic Games has finally opened up on the Xbox 360 version of Unreal Tournament III, which is set to ship with exclusive maps and characters that the PC and PS3 versions didn't get.

Although it still doesn't have a firm release date, Epic confirmed at Midway's Gamers Day that the 360 version will contain five exclusive maps, two new characters and it will also include a two player split-screen mode.

It looks like the PS3's user-generated content didn't make it over to 360 then (presumably due to Microsoft's strict closed network approach on Xbox Live), but IGN says all of the downloadable content made for PC and PS3 will also appear on Xbox Live Marketplace."

Agreed, the exclusive content will probably become user created mods in the PS3, not the splitscreen though.

I didnt even buy the game for the PS3.. So I could careless about the 360 version :P but split screen is a definate plus.

and I found 10000 empty servers and 2 full servers

lol, I ahte servers on 1.6 now. Went back to them after a while and there were a tonne of servers but they all just play dust non-stop..............

UT 2004 as strong as CS 1.6? You can't be serious. There are about 300 people playing it in the USA and less in the UK.

and the game should have a lot more anyway by now....crysis has nearly 600 mods for it...and thats from one site alone, Im sure in reality their are at least twice that.

You are looking at Gamespy stats and it counts the bots as players. Use game-monitor. Deihmos

gamespy is the service that runs these games, they are far more accurate than game-monitor, a third party service, especially since game monitor only tracks servers that are registered on the website.

I gave the game away after I got UT3 ( a stupid decision), but I highly doubt gamespy, the service that runs the online browser, would count bots when the page is titled "top game servers by players"

I have UT 2004 but don't plan to reinstall it to prove to you. Gamespy counts bots and that is a fact. There was a post about it on the gamespy forum and the developer confirmed that bots are included. That is why games with bots have a much higher count on gamespy compared to game-monitor. Look at Quakewars for example.

Charging for user created content that they don't have any rights to? I don't see that happening. Maybe all the junk would be filtered out and only the good ones make it to the marketplace. That will be a good thing.

I'll be selling my PS3 version and picking this one up.

UT04 had so many great mods......... But UT99 was damn good.

UT3 was made to try and recapture the orignials magic, and we all know the first UT was slow at the time (comparitive to the pure DM pace of Q3A). It was said many times in it's development, thats what fans wanted.

The problem with UT is it's becoming long in the tooth, FPS these days are offering little innovation comparitive to the next. It's a "been there done that" scenerio with some tweaks thrown in.

Have you seen the sales for UT3 on the PC? :S The PS3 outsold the PC version by double at least.

your talking about US sales, PC games have never been popular in the US, the german market for PC games alone is larger than the US.

I wish they would've just made a Unreal Championship for the 360. Eh...UT3 was pretty lame,they slowed it down waaay to much. =) UC:Liandre Conflict was pretty fun on Xbox though,I like the melee over guns.
